El año pasado se realizó el primer Encuentro Internacional de Animación en el FIC Monterrey. Este encuentro tuvo la intención de compartir y exponer las distintas perspectivas de la animación alrededor del planeta. El evento contó con la participación de figuras como Carlos Carrera, Jorge Estrada, Kunihiko Yuyama, Lou Hamou-Lhadj, Erik Rosenlud, entre otros.
Debido al rotundo éxito de este evento, el Encuentro Internacional de Animación regresa a nuestra ciudad para una segunda edición del 20 al 23 de agosto. “De la Mente a la Pantalla” es el nombre de este encuentro que se enfocará en las distintas etapas del proceso de desarrollo de una historia- desde el desarrollo de la idea, los personajes y el mundo donde habitan estos personajes.
Al igual que el año pasado, este encuentro contará con la participación de importantes figuras nacionales e internacionales de la animación como Cathal Gaffney (dos veces nominado al premio Óscar), Joaquín Baldwin (quien actualmente trabaja en Walt Disney Animation Studios), Miguel del Moral (fundador y director del Festival Internacional de Animación CutOut Fest), entre otros.

The first International Animation Encounter in the Monterrey IFF took place last year. This encounter had the goal of sharing and exposing the different perspectives on animation throughout the world. The event had the participation of figures such as Carlos Carrera, Jorge Estrada, Kunihiko Yuyama, Lou Hamou-Lhadj, Erik Rosenlud, among others.
Due to the extreme success of this event, the International Animation Encounter returns to our city for a second edition from the 20 to the 23 of August. “From the Mind to the Screen” is the name of this encounter and it will focus on the different stages of the creative process of a story- from the development of the idea, the characters and the places where these characters live.
Like last year’s, this encounter will have the participation of important animators such as Cathal Gaffney (who has been nominated twice for the Oscar), Joaquín Baldwin (who currently works at Walt Disney Animation Studios), Miguel del Moral (founder and director of the International Animation Festival CutOut Fest), among others.
